Nielsen Group
Welcome
The primary aim of the Nielsen Group at the Center for Physical Activity Research (CFAS) is to investigate the acute metabolic functions of long, non-coding RNA in human brown and white adipose tissue. We use a translational approach to study the mechanism behind the activation of brown fat and the "browning" of white fat. By isolating stem cells from brown and white fat from people with different metabolic profiles or from people exposed to cold, we hope to identify specific regulators of brown fat.
